I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Today marks the beginning of our first full week of math class. This week we will begin to build upon our routine of reading the daily message to incorporating two new steps...... 1) a quick self-evaluation at the beginning and ending of each class and 2) a daily problem to solve (on our dry erase sheets found in the center of each table group.)
We will model this together to start off our day.
Goals:
- Develop self-reflection skills
- Solve a daily problem
- Use a place value chart to show your reasoning (thinking process) in multiplication and division problems
Problem: Farmer Jim keeps 12 hens in every coop. If he has 20 coops, how many hens does he have in all? If every hen lays 9 eggs on Monday, how many eggs will Farmer Jim collect on Monday? Explain your reasoning using words, numbers or pictures.
