Today we are going to spend more time focusing on understanding how the decimal can "appear to move" when you multiply or divide by a power of ten, instead of staying fixed like it does when you imagine it on a place value chart. As many struggled with homework, today we will correct our homework attempt together and review a few problems to get better at this problem solving.
Some tips for our number routine........imagine the number is 32.5
A word form example: thirty-two and five tenths
An expanded form example: (3 x 10) + (2 x 1) + (5 x 0.1)
Rounded to the nearest ten: 30
Sum of the number and 10: 43.5
