Welcome 5th graders!
Yesterday we took a slight detour in math to make sure we were all understanding how to compare the value of digits. Being able to explain that 5 is one-tenth the value of 50 is an example of an important place value skill. It allows us to evaluate and discuss the magnitude of numbers.
Today we will continue to apply this understanding as we explore multiplying and dividing decimals when the decimal stays fixed (as on a place value chart) or when the digits stay fixed (and the decimal seem to "move.")
Get ready to participate....we are all going to be up and on the move as we solidify our decimal/digit understanding.
